Webb being held on $2 million bond at Big Sandy Detention Center

Stanley Webb Jr. April 15The process pf prosecuting Stanley Webb, Jr., 48, for the the murders of two persons near Blaine, Ky. is one step closer and moving at warp speed.

Troopers from the Kentucky State Police discovered  Lois “Peggy” Gartin, 79, and her stepson Michael Gartin, 52, shot and killed in their home near Blaine on April 2, 2016.

Webb was arrested in Columbus, Ohio that same day for the theft of a Jeep Cherokee that belonged to the deceased, and with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

On April 4 KSP troopers gathered enough evidence to charge Webb with two counts of murder. He was extradited back to Kentucky on April 13 and at 9:09 pm was booked at the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center.

He is booked on the charges of Theft By Unlawful Taking (Automobile), Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. His bond on those charges remains at $10,000. He is also charged with two counts of Murder and on that charge his bond is set at $2,000,000.

Officers said that Webb was ‘very quiet’ when he arrived at the facility and hasn’t been any trouble since he was booked.

State Police haven’t yet released a motive for the murders.

We will be following the case closely as Webb begins the court process. He will be arraigned as early as next Wednesday in Lawrence County Court.
