Belfry Defeats Bulldogs, Huge Home Game vs Floyd Central On Tap This Week

Pond Creek, Ky — Belfry ( 5-2 and 3-0 in District play ) shut out Lawrence Co. ( 3-5 and 1-2 in District play ) 48-0 on Friday night at CAM Stadium.

It was a tough night for the Bulldogs who were held to season low 45 yards of total offense.

Belfry racked up 398 yards of total offense on the night.

Lawrence Co. senior running back Trevor Young led the way with 37 yards rushing on 9 carries, QB Baden Gillispie was held to 5 yards on 7 attempts and threw 1 INT, Blue Fletcher had 3 yards on 10 carries, Brandon Davis 1 carry for 2 yards, Andrew Tackett 2 carries and -2 yards.

 

The game was marred by a melee near the end of the first half and two players were ejected after a lengthy brawl all over the field.

Lawrence Co. will return to action next Friday on Senior night with a huge match up with Floyd Central ( 3-5 and 1-2 in District action ) with loser likely headed to Pond Creek in the first round of the playoffs November 8th.
