BASEBALL DAWGS WIN FOUR IN A ROW; PLAY AT HOME THREE TIMES THIS WEEK

Louisa, Ky. — Eli Fletcher homered in a 12-2 mercy rule victory over Shelby Valley as Lawrence Co. improved to 10-7 on the year Friday evening. 

Eli Fletcher is greeted at home plate after hitting a two run homer versus Shelby Valley. 

Against Shelby Valley Logan Whisenant went three and 2/3 innings, struck out three, allowed four hits and two runs to get the win. Braxton Davis went two and 1/3 innings, allowed no hits and struck out three to pick up the save against the Wildcats at home Friday. Whisenant also had two hits and two runs batted in. Davis singled and had two RBIs.

Boedy Maynard had three hits, one run batted in and scored three times, Talan Pollack had two hits including a double, one RBI and scored a run, Gray Derifield had two RBIs, Jake Derifield singled and scored a run, Blake Prater singled and Abner Collinsworth scored a run. 

Lawrence Co. 13 Belfry 3 ( Thursday ) 

Boedy Maynard went five innings to help the Dawgs to the mercy rule road victory over the Pirates. Maynard gave up two earned runs, five hits, struck out five and walked none. Maynard also singled and drove in a run. 

Jake Derifield had three hits and scored a run, Gray Derifield had two hits, two RBIs and scored three times, Talon Pollack had two hits including a double, drove in one and scored three times, Eli Fletcher had two hits including a double, drove in one and scored twice, Logan Whisenant singled, drove in one and scored a run, Abner Collinsworth and Braxton Davis scored a run each.

The Dawgs will have three home games this week beginning on Wednesday against Wolfe Co. versus Knott Co. Central on Thursday and closing out the week on Friday against East Carter.
