Hindman, Ky — Lawrence Co. is 23-4 and has won seven games in a row after a doubleheader road sweep of Knott Co. Central ( 13-10 ) on Wednesday evening.
Lawrence Co. 11 Knott Co. Central 0 ( Game One )
The Dawgs hit the road for a midweek twin bill and broke open a close game with 8 runs in the 5th inning to mercy the Patriots and win game one.
CJ Fairchild hit a Home Run, his fifth of the year and also tripled, Tyler Maynard had 2 hits and 2 RBIs, Lucas Maynard had 2 hits including a double and drove in 1 run, Jackson Feltner had 2 hits and scored twice, Hunter Crum 1 hit and 1 run. Austin Roe and Ethan Whitt had 1 RBI each.
Bryce Blevins threw a complete game 2 hit shutout and struck out 4 batters. He also had 2 hits including a double and drove in 2 runs.
Lawrence Co. 11 Knott Co. Central 1 ( Game Two )
In game two Tyler Maynard hit his second homer of the year, an absolute bomb. Maynard finished with 2 hits, 3 RBIs and scored 3 times, Hunter Crum had 2 hits, 2 RBIs and scored once, Lucas Maynard, Austin Roe and Bryce Blevins had 1 hit and 1 RBI each, CJ Fairchild 1 hit and 2 runs, Ethan Whitt 2 runs.
Jackson Feltner picked up the win on the mound with 5 innings of work, 1 earned run, 1 hit and 5 K’s. He also doubled and drove in 3 runs. Jacob Fletcher worked the sixth inning allowing 1 hit and struck out 1.
Lawrence Co. 13 Pikeville 2 ( Tuesday )
The Dawgs improved to 4-0 against the Panthers with a mercy rule win at Randy Keeton Field.
CJ Fairchild had 2 hits including a double, drove in 2 runs and scored twice to pace the offense from his leadoff spot, Jacob Fletcher doubled and knocked in 2 runs, Ethan Whitt doubled and drove in one run, Jackson Feltner had 2 RBIs and scored once, Lucas Maynard had 1 hit and Hunter Crum scored once.
Tyler Maynard went 5 innings to get the win. He allowed 2 earned runs and 3 hits. Maynard also helped his own cause with 2 hits including a double and drove in 3 runs.
Lawrence Co. 4 Pikeville 2 ( Game One Saturday)
The Bulldogs hit the road and scored 2 runs in the sixth and seventh innings to erase a 2-0 deficit and win game one Saturday afternoon.
Lucas Maynard was great on the mound going the first six innings to get the win. He allowed 0 earned runs. Bryce Blevins pitched the seventh to get the save.
Jackson Feltner tripled and drove in 2 runs, Jacob Fletcher had 2 hits, 1 run, and 1 RBI, Lucas Maynard, CJ Fairchild and Bryce Blevins had 1 hit and scored a run apiece, Brayden Maynard drove in a run.
Lawrence Co. 12 Pikeville 0 ( Game Two Saturday )
In game two the Dawgs scored 10 runs in the third inning to blow it wide open and complete the sweep.
CJ Fairchild threw 5 innings striking out 7 and only allowed 3 hits to get the win. He also had 1 hit.
Austin Roe, Tyler Maynard, Bryce Blevins, and Jacob Fletcher had 2 hits and 2 RBIs each, Ethan Whitt tripled and drove in 2 runs, Hunter Crum doubles, Brayden Maynard had 1 hit, Jackson Feltner scored twice.
Lawrence Co. will return to action on Monday vs Ashland and Tuesday vs Paintsville with both games coming at Randy Keeton Field.

“… We were down in the first game 2-0 in 6th inning and had runners on 1st and 2nd and they decided to pitch to Jackson and he laced a triple that scored both runners. I couldn’t believe they pitched to him.”
“… Lucas Maynard threw well in game one vs Pikeville. Man, he’s been good all year. CJ was really really good as sharp as he’s been all year in game two. He was dominant the whole game.”
“… We played well in both games with Knott Co. Central. Two good road wins for us. It is May now and postseason is right around the corner. We want to be playing our best baseball when it counts. We have a pretty good stretch of games coming up.”
