My name is Terry Baldridge. I apologize for the intrusion, but I have something you may wish to cover in The Levisa Lazer. I have just released a new local history book regarding a history of the charcoal iron furnaces that was once predominant in the region. The title is, “Pig Iron Charcoal Iron Furnaces of the Hanging Rock Iron Region”. Lawrence County had a one of these charcoal furnaces and it is covered in the book. Other Kentucky counties in the book are Boyd, Carter, and Greenup. Counties in Ohio that are covered in the area are Gallia, Hocking, Jackson, Lawrence, Scioto, and Vinton. I don’t know if I will have complementary copies to send out as I did the book on my own dine from idea to print. They are available on Amazon. Here is a photo of the front and back cover.
