LOUISA –– Anthony Chapman, 50 of Louisa now faces a civil suit stemming from his arrest on 6/21/2019. Until now, the Lazer not been able to obtain a copy of his arrest report but a copy of the actual citation of arrest is included in the civil suit.

Anthony Chapman

The original complaint warrant was obtained by Chapman’s employer after an audit as well as complaints from other sources. The defendant was initially charged with Theft By Unlawful Taking, more than $10,000  but under $1 million. stating that Chapman during the dates of 2/1/18 through 6/18/19 had stolen money from the Best Western Motel of Louisa, his employer.

According to the official arrest citation, on June 21st, 2019 Julius Musick of the Louisa Police Department located Chapman at the Marathon gas station on Lady Washington Street outside his vehicle to the west of the store in the parking lot. “I knew that Chapman had an active warrant for his arrest.” I approached him and told him that he was under arrest for an active warrant and asked if he had anything in his pockets, stated Musick in his summary. “After placing him in handcuffs, I searched his person. Located in his left pocket of his shorts was a small white cylinder. I ask Chapman what was in it and he stated heroin.”

“After reading him his Miranda rights, he agreed to speak with me and I conducted an interview at the police department. Chapman stated that he was given the drugs by someone in Huntington, WV that owed him $20 but the person didn’t have the cash so they gave him heroin instead. Chapman stated that this transaction occurred 6 days prior to his arrest. He stated that he hadn’t used drugs on the day of his arrest but did use heroin the day before because of a recent relapse. He was then charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, 1st degree and Importing Heroin along with the TBUT charge that he was first being arrested on.”

The defendant remains free on the surety bon pending arraignment which has not been set.

It really surprises me what people will do or say in order to destroy the character of another human being. It’s like everyone thrives on the downfall of another person or individual. Has anyone ever considered what my side of the story might be…or innocent until proven guilty? I don’t have the money or the means to fight false accusations or the deep pockets of Gene & Pauletta Wilson. I can’t even get my last payroll check from the hotel in hope of obtaining legal representation due to Gene & Pauletta deeming it so…the law states I deserve and have the right to my last paycheck but apparently they are above the law. I usually dont fall into this dirty laundry game of FB and LL have to post, just make sure the facts are straight and please leave my Family out of this fiasco.
    Thank You
    Tony Chapman

Bob, an individual can be, and often is incarcerated on an accusation which is all a criminal charge is in reality. If an individual has money or property they can make bond, if not they stay in jail until their trial; at which time many people are found not guilty. The system as it stands does seem to favor those of means; do you disagree?

Tony I just talked to you a while back and you said you were getting your nurse license back and getting you a job? What happened. You need to not lie and tell the truth. Sad that I throughly believed you. Never again

Regardless of guilt, Mr. Chapmen bears a strong resemblance to Karl Childers from the movie “Sling Blade” Unggggh. I wonder if he likes mustard biscuits?
