1924 — 2016 

Ardith Fae Copley 92 of Fort Gay, WV went home to be with the Lord on Friday July 29, 2016 following a brief illness.

Ardith was born May 9, 1924 at Fort Gay, WV, a daughter of the late Wallace and Pearl Saulsbury Peck. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Roy Copley who died in 2005, also husband John Wellman, and son George Allen Wellman, and also seven siblings Cella Crabtree, Loda Wellman, Arch Peck, James Peck, Paige Peck, Frank Peck, and Villa Scarberry. She was a retired Fort Gay Grade School Cook and a member of the Tabors Creek Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include two daughters Barbara Linkous of Genoa, WV and Alice Maynard and husband Maxwell Jr. of Louisa, KY; three sons Stephen J. Copley and wife Stella of Fort Gay, Roy Keith Copley of Prichard, WV, and John Henry Wellman and wife Rita of Louisa; eighteen grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday August 2 at 1:00 pm at the Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Denny Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the Wellman Cemetery on Route 37 Fort Gay, WV.

Friends may visit the family on Tuesday from 11:00 AM until time of services at the Wilson Funeral Home.

The family would like to thank the staff of Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House for their love and care of our mother.
