Addiction Recovery Care (ARC), a leading provider of treatment and recovery services in the commonwealth, issued the following statement today in response to the Kentucky Office of Drug Control Policy’s 2020 Overdose Fatality Report released this week:

“Addiction does not discriminate and impacts people of all backgrounds and walks of life. The 1,964 Kentuckians who lost their lives to overdoses in 2020 were mothers and fathers, sisters and brothers, sons and daughters, friends, colleagues and neighbors,” said Matt Brown, senior vice president of administration for Addiction Recovery Care. “Amid increased substance use and mental health needs spurred by the pandemic, the drug supply has also continued to see an alarming increase in fentanyl and fentanyl analogs. The comprehensive treatment and recovery services provided by ARC have never been so important.”

“Our treatment on demand model is focused on getting individuals on the path to recovery as soon as they have that moment of clarity and decide to seek help. People can reach out to ARC directly through text, chat, phone call or email any time, day or night, and be screened and accepted into our program. If an individual doesn’t have access to transportation, ARC is ready and available to pick them up from anywhere in the state and get them to treatment as soon as possible. Individuals who enter our treatment program receive a clinical evaluation and are seen by a medical provider all within a 24-hour period,” added Brown.

“No matter how badly you are struggling, there is a place here for you at ARC, along with a team full of medical professionals, counselors and others who are committed to helping you find a treatment plan that will give you the very best chance at long-term recovery.”

Matt Brown and other ARC leaders are available for in-person, virtual and phone interviews regarding the 2020 Overdose Fatality Report and other relevant topics.
