Addiction Recovery Care (ARC), a leading provider of treatment and recovery services in the Commonwealth, released the following statements today regarding Attorney General Daniel Cameron’s opioid settlement announcement:

Matt Brown

“Over the years, Kentucky’s legislators, public officials, business community and recovery leaders have worked together to make great progress in addressing the addiction crisis. The opioid settlement funds coming to the Commonwealth will be critical in helping us continue to do this important work, and we thank Governor Beshear and Attorney General Daniel Cameron for their steadfast leadership on this effort,” said Matt Brown, Addiction Recovery Care senior vice president of administration. “The recovery community welcomes the opportunity to offer input on the best allocation of these funds, and we look forward to continuing these important conversations with state leaders.”

“In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, Kentucky is facing a major mental health crisis,”said John Wilson, CEO of Crown Recovery Center in Springfield. “Investing in comprehensive programs that will get Kentuckians on the right path and back to work has never been more important. These new resources will allow us to continue expanding these programs and services to support even more of our family members, colleagues and neighbors who are struggling with substance use.”

“Addiction has a staggering ripple effect, impacting everything from our families and neighborhoods to our workforce and economy,” added Brown. “By investing in innovative treatment programs that include the wraparound services needed for long-term recovery, such as access to health care, employment and educational opportunities, safe and affordable housing, transportation and childcare, we can turn the tide on addiction in Kentucky.”
