Appalachian Hustle 6U wins Paintsville Baseball Tournament

Paintsville, Ky. — The Louisa based Appalachian Hustle 6U baseball team went 4-0 this past weekend to bring home some sweet championship rings in the Mountain Mayhem tournament played at Paintsville Little League.

In the first game of pool play the Lawrence Co. youngsters beat the War Possums 9-5.

In the second game they sneaked past Powell County 9-8 to capture the #1 seed in the single elimination tournament.

In the semifinals of the tournament they took care of the War Possums once again this time 10-4.

In the Championship game they brought home the championship with a 9-7 victory over Powell Co. who upset the Grayson Legends in the other semifinal.

In the championship game the LC boys trialed 7-0 before rallying and scored 4 runs including a huge two out of the bat of Easton Davis in the third inning. entering the bottom of 3rd inning of a five inning game.

Then in the bottom of the 4th they scored 5 more times with huge hits by Syd Woods, Dane Kitts, Noah Patton and Easton Caudill.

Noah Patton ended the game on a pop out double play where he tagged the runner trying to go home from 3rd after tagging up.

The Team is 6-0 so far this season and will travel to Mt. Sterling on Saturday.
