Anita Louise (Marcum) Brown

1937 – 2016 

Anita Louise (Marcum) Brown, 68, of Louisa, KY, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 4, 2016, in Ruskin, FL, at Life Path Hospice House following a battle with multiple myeloma.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert R. Brown, her parents J. N., Jr. and Laura Marcum of Louisa, KY, and an aunt, FaDana Sisson of Louisa, KY.

Anita was born on November 16, 1947 in Louisa, KY.  She was a graduate of Louisa High School and Morehead State University.  Anita retired from the Lawrence County, KY school system in 1997 after serving 28 years as a fourth grade teacher at the Louisa Elementary School. Anita was a lifetime member of the First United Methodist Church of Louisa.   

She is survived by one daughter Marla Brown Tobia (Scott), and two grandchildren, Easton and Laura Tobia, who reside in Apollo Beach, FL; one sister Rose Marie Murray (A.B.) of Fort Gay, WV; a sister-in-law Violet Watts (Bernard) of Blackey, KY; nieces and nephews: Elaine Murray DeSario (David), and their children Alex and Eli DeSario, Neil Watts, John Watts (Anita) and their daughter Emily Jade Watts; and a host of close friends.

The family will receive friends at the First United Methodist Church, located at 202 W. Main St. in Louisa, KY from 4:00 pm -9:00pm on Sunday, May 8. 

Final services will also be held there at 2:00pm on Monday, May 9, 2016, with Rev. Raymond Payne officiating, with burial to follow at Pine Hill Cemetery in Louisa. 

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the First United Methodist Church of Louisa.
