A popular reality television series will be traveling through Kentucky during October and they are currently looking for places to film.

Recruiters for the show “American Pickers” are currently looking for places to “pick” throughout Kentucky. Some of the items they are seeking are vintage bicycles, toys, advertising memorabilia, automotive items and more.

American Pickers is a reality TV show that airs on the History Channel. The show features antique pickers Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz, who travel throughout the country looking to buy America’s most valuable antique items, a news release said.

This is not the first time that the show has come through Kentucky. Recruiters for the show have looked for Kentucky collections to possibly film in 2016 and in 2012. Although several people with collections in LaRue County said they contacted the show during both of those times, none of them were chosen by the recruiters.

Emily Chafetz, who is a casting associate for the show, said that the chances of them coming to LaRue County or any other particular area increases if the people with the collections are “interesting characters” and someone that has a collection of items that are “different, unusual and unique.”

If you or someone you know has a large private antique collection, contact americanpickers@cineflix.com or call and leave a voicemail at 1-855-653-7878 (old-rust). Be sure to leave your name, address, phone number, the location of the antique collection and a description of the items.

Collections from retail shops, flea markets, museums, auction, businesses or anything that is open to the public are excluded.
