ACTCS SPRING GRADUATION CEREMONIES ANNOUNCED

ACTC GRADUATION IS MAY 5

Ashland Community and Technical College will recognize a record number of 744 students at the Graduation Ceremony on Friday, May 5, at 7:30 p.m. in the Paramount Arts Center.

The students to be honored are August and December 2016 graduates, and May and Summer 2017 graduation candidates. Many have earned more than one degree, diploma or certificate, and over 2,000 credentials will be awarded.

Boyd County native and ACTC alumnus Dr. Larry Ferguson will be the keynote speaker.  He has more than 20 years of workforce training experience, including several leadership position at ACTC.  He is now Vice President for Resource Development for the Kentucky Community and Technical College System.

Dr. Ferguson and Frank Salisbury, retired ACTC Development Director, will receive Distinguished Alumni Awards. Louisa resident Jonathan “Wes” Hughes will be the graduating student speaker. 

The Ashland Paul Blazer High School Army JROTC, under the direction of Command Sergeant Major Mike Maynard (Ret.), will be the color guard, and ACTC alumna Ciera James will sing the national anthem.

The Graduation Ceremony is free and open to the public. The Ceremony will stream live beginning at 7:20 p.m. at www.greenupbeacon.com and www.greenupbeacon2.com.
