LOUISA ROTARY’S NEW PRESIDENT IS…HAROLD SLONE

On Thursday June 30, 2022 The Louisa Rotary Club had Installation of ‘New Officers’ at the ‘Carter Room’ beside the Garden Theater in Louisa, Kentucky from 12-1PM.

Louisa Rotary Club President Pat Hart welcomed everyone to Rotary and called on Tommy Taylor for prayer. Then lunch was catered by ‘123 Cafe’ from Paintsville, Kentucky. (Louisa 123 Cafe opening in approximately one month ) Rotary Club President Pat Hart and the Rotarians recited The Pledge of Allegiance and The Pledge of the Four-Way Test.

Dan Smith and Mike Shapaka received awards and Joey Moore, LCHS Graduate Class of 2022 received a Rotary Essay Award and monetary check.

Debbie Cordle received an award for her work this year and  Wes Kingsmore received an award as well. The following Rotarians will make up the Louisa Rotary Officers for 2022 – 2023:

  • Susie Chambers was selected to serve as Sergeant – At – Arms.
  • Ginger Copley was selected to serve as Treasurer and
  • Ellen Taylor was selected as Secretary and
  • Thomas Bradley was selected as Vice – President.

Then the Current Rotary President Patton R Hart introduced Harold Slone as New Louisa Rotary President. The President is the Club’s TOP OFFICER in Rotary.

New Rotary President Harold Slone then presented out-going President Patton R. Hart with a gavel and award for Outstanding Rotarian of the year for his performance in Rotary, Hart got a standing ovation and said a few words about his experience this last year.

Then Rotary President Harold Slone awarded Greg Kiser with the Rotary Spirit Stick. Kiser also received a standing ovation from the Rotary.

Slone then asked for any comments for the Good of Rotary.

Rotarian Sherry Compton reminded everyone to fill out sign-up sheets for the Rotary Auction coming soon. Chris Jobe reminded everyone of Bicentennial Burger Week and LC Tourism Chairman Wes Kingsmore explained all the activities for the Fourth of July events going on this weekend July 2, 2022.

All Rotarians were reminded that Louisa First United Methodist Church will be celebrating 175th Anniversary on July 3rd at 6PM in Louisa, Kentucky.

Rotary was adjourned.

The next weekly scheduled meeting will be on Thursday July 7, 2022 at The First Baptist Church in Louisa, Kentucky from 12 – 1PM and this will be a Rotary Business Meeting.
