Daytime closures scheduled for KY 1690 in Lawrence County

PIKEVILLE, Ky. (May 23, 2022) – Contractor King Crete will begin making necessary repairs to KY 1690 in Lawrence County. The break work will take place at milepoint 4.32, located 2.72 miles north of KY 645 and 5.73 miles southwest of KY 2037. These repairs include drilling and stabilizing the road in areas where the road has previously broken.

During these repairs, KY 1690 will be temporarily closed to allow room for construction. Once the road is stable, construction will move to the shoulder and flaggers will direct one lane traffic for the remainder of repairs.

Crews plan to start May 24 at 8 a.m., and expect repairs to take approximately four days to complete. The contractor will be working between the hours of 8 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Motorists should also pay attention to equipment being parked in the work zone during daytime and overnight hours.  Drivers should use alternate routes where possible.  District 12 asks drivers to use caution and obey speed limits to prevent any accidents within the work zone.
