LAWRENCE CO. ENDS REGULAR SEASON ON A FOUR GAME WINNING STREAK; DISTRICT TOURNAMENT STARTS MONDAY AT FLOYD CENTRAL

Louisa, Ky. — Lawrence Co. ( 26-6 ) ended the regular season with a 7-4 victory over Johnson Central ( 19-13 ) on Thursday evening.

The Dawgs overcame an early two run deficit to beat the Golden Eagles for the second time this season.

Dani Crum cruises into third base against Johnson Central on Thursday. 

 

 

Dani Crum had three hits and scored two runs, Shelby Blevins had two hits and drove in three runs, Bree Jones had two hits, one RBI and scored once, Kensley Feltner had two hits and scored three times, Abby Nelson doubled, scored a run and drove in one, Ella Fitzpatrick singled and drove in a run, Gracie Preece singled.

 

 

Allie Triplett went the distance in the circle to pick up the win.

 

 

Lawrence Co. 11 Shelby Valley 3 ( Wednesday )

 

Abby Maynard had three hits versus Shelby Valley. 

 

Abby Maynard had three hits and scored twice, Dani Crum hit a double and a triple, drove in three runs and scored once, Kensley Feltner had two hits, one RBI and scored two runs, Abby Nelson singled, drove in two runs and scored twice, Gracie Preece singled and drove in two runs, Bree Jones singled and scored a run, Ella Fitzpatrick had two runs batted in, Camber Maxie-Stepp scored a run.

 

 

Allie Triplett went the distance to get the win in the circle, she also singled and scored a run.

The Dawgs will open up the 58th District tournament on Monday at Floyd Central versus Betsy Layne.

 

 

Floyd Central ( 13-16 ) will face Prestonsburg ( 6-15 ) in the second game Monday night.

 

 

The championship game is slated for Wednesday at 6:00.

COACH’S COMMENTS

 

“… We are playing really well right now and that’s the time of the year you always want to get hot. We have had some big wins the last few weeks but that means nothing now. I feel we are ready, we just need to play our game. This is like Christmas to me! I love this time of year! I think there are 4 to 6 teams that could win the region and I’m thankful I feel we are one of them. Play Ball!”
