JOBE SAYS SKAGGS TOO YOUNG, NAME WON’T BE ON BALLOT

Will Skaggs

LOUISA — Lawrence County Clerk Chris Jobe announced yesterday that Coroner candidate Will Skaggs will not be allowed to have his name on the ballot because he is too young to hold the office.

“We just got the official word from the court that the ruling is in favor of Wes (Heston) who had filed the complaint, Jobe said.

Neither one will be on the ballot because there is now no competition for the position which requires a candidate to be 24 years of age by the time of the General Election and Heston proved Skaggs is not old enough.

Why did Jobe let him run in the first place? Jobe knew his age took his money to file knowing he was not qualified. In my opinion I think.Mr Jobe owes Mr Skaggs the money he paid to file for this office an also the money he’s spent for advertising. Chris Jobe also owes the LC taxpayers as well as Skaggs an apology for neglecting his duties as the county clerk, he should know the rules this should never have went this far. Shame on you Chris Jobe learn your job that’s what you get paid for. How many times have these errors happen an no one has known it.
