Opal M. Muncy, 87, of Louisa, KY went home to be with the Lord on Friday, February 25, 2022.

Opal was born September 9, 1934 in Minnie, KY to the late Estel and Glenn Mae (Sparks) Hughes. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Bennett Wade Muncy, Sr.

Opal was co-owner and operator of Bodak Enterprises. She was a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary of American Legion Post 89 of Louisa, KY and a member of the National Genealogical Society.

Opal was a Christian and was a long time member of Louisa Church of God.

Survivors include her children Glenna Muncy of Louisa, KY, Bennett W. (Sandy) Muncy, Jr. of Harrodsburg, KY, Violet L. Seay of Louisa, KY, David J. (Cassie) Muncy of Louisa, KY, and William H. (Lisa) Muncy; 18 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; and siblings Arnold “Buddy” (Geraldine) Hughes of Lorain, OH, Bobby (Carol) Hughes of Greenup, KY, Audrey (Elmer) Frazier of Ashland, KY, Thomas (Carla) Hughes of Columbus, OH, Estel (Brenda) Hughes of South Point, NC, Peggy (Pete) Wears of Columbus, OH, Donald (Chris) Hughes of Orient, OH and Alberta Hughes of Louisa, KY.

Friends may visit the family on Saturday, February 26, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM in the Young Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, February 27, 2022 at 2:00 PM at the Young Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Paul Stepp officiating. Burial will follow in the Muncy Meek Cemetery.

Young Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of Mrs. Muncy and her family.
