Little Women…the broadway musical!
I’ll tell you the best thing!!!…On Sunday afternoon, my family attended the Broadway musical Little Women at the Garden Theater in Louisa, KY. by the Mountain Movers Theater Company (MoMo). We entered the theater and were transformed into the Civil War era on stage and the symphony played flawless musical numbers.
Kim Willard, the Artistic Director at (MoMo) welcomed the crowd and recognized my mother Geneva Ann Salyer for having her 29th Birthday AGAIN on February 9, 2022. (Chuckles).
Based on Louisa May Alcott’s life, Little Women follows the adventures of sisters, Jo, Meg, Beth and Amy March. Jo is trying to sell her stories for publication, but the publishers are not interested. Her friend, Professor Bhaer, tells her that she has to do better and write more from herself. Begrudgingly taking this advice, Jo weaves the story of herself and her sisters and their experience growing up in Civil War America.
Truly a remarkable storyline that leaves you experiencing happy and sad times with the March sisters, as they grow up. But you will also find the answers to who gets married…who passes away and finally the answer everyone is asking…what happens to Jo March? Such a lively performance that made me laugh and cry then laugh and cry again.
