On Tuesday,November 2, just after 12:00 P.M.,the Johnson County Sheriff Department released information announcing a multi-agency raid on a major drug operation near the end of last week via an execution of a search warrant at a home residence in rural northeastern Johnson County.

According to the press report by Johnson County Sheriff Doug Salyor, on the morning of Friday, October 29, 2021, the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at 5378 Ky. Rt. 201 Sitka, Kentucky at the residence of Edgar “Eddie” Castle.

The search warrant is the result of a two year investigation into illegal sales of Methamphetamine in Johnson County. With the assistance of Operation Unite Detective Scott Bailey and DEA London, the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office was able to make numerous controlled drug buys at the residence and ultimately the execution of the search warrant.

As a result of the search, authorities located and recovered a quantity of suspected Methamphetamine, along with several thousand dollars believed to be proceeds of illegal drug sales. There were also firearms and other drug paraphernalia recovered as well.

EDGAR “EDDIE” L. CASTLE

Edgar “Eddie” L. Castle age 53 is suspected of being a mid to upper level drug dealer and was arrested and lodged at the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center, on state charges of

  • Trafficking in Controlled Substance 1st Degree, 1st Offense over 2 grams, a class C- felony;
  • three counts of Trafficking in Controlled Substance 1st Degree 2nd Offense over 2 grams, a class B-felony; and
  • Possession of a handgun by convicted felon.

Also arrested during the search were: Daniel R. Clark, age 45 of Wittensville, Kentucky and Ricky E. Castle, age 52, of Sitka, Kentucky.

DANIEL R. CLARK

Daniel Clark was charged with

  • Trafficking in controlled substance 1st degree, 1st Offense;
  • Drug Paraphernalia- Buy/Possession, and
  • Persistent Felony Offender 1.
  • Also, a Parole Violation Warrant was also served on him.

RICKY E. CASTLE

Ricky Castle was arrested on

  • Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree, 1st Offense.

This drug case matter is expected to be presented to a U.S. Federal Grand Jury in Pikeville soon. This drug case is still under investigation by Deputy William “Bill” Meade, and the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, Operation Unite and DEA London.

Sheriff Doug Saylor wants to thank everyone who has assisted in this investigation including the community of Sitka for their information and patience.
