DOWNWARD TRENDING:

62 NEW COVID-19 CASES IN LAWRENCE COUNTY IN THE PAST SEVEN DAYS; NEW DEATH RAISES COUNTY DEATH TOLL TO 39

NEW CASES ACCOUNT FOR ALL ACTIVES IN LAWRENCE COUNTY; NEW CASE NUMBER DROP BY 46.55% FROM PREVIOUS 7 DAY TOTAL

OCTOBER 12, 2021 – written by WADE QUEEN

There is some good news for the start of this week for Lawrence County.

The numbers for the coronavirus epidemic in Lawrence County, both new cases and active cases, are going down, (as also for the vast majority of the rest of the counties in Kentucky as well).

Between Monday October 5 and Monday, October 12; according to the Lawrence County Health Department,  there were 62 new Covid-19 positive cases in Lawrence County.

That is down from the previous seven day total between Monday, September 27 and Monday, October 4; as there were 116 new Covid-19 positive cases in Lawrence County.

From October 5-7, there were fifty-six (33) new COVID-19 cases in Lawrence County  Six (6) had been fully vaccinated and were breakthrough cases. None of these cases required anyone to be hospitalized.

Unfortunately, there was another death of a Lawrence County citizen from Covid-19, bringing the county death total to 39.

The age ranges of the October 5-7 COVID-19 positive cases were from a 3 year old infant to an 71 year old person. 19 of the new positive cases were from the age of 21 years old to 60 years old; only 8 cases were those the age of 20 and under.

From October 8-11, there were twenty nine (29) new COVID-19 cases in Lawrence County for Six  (6) had been fully vaccinated and were breakthrough cases. One (1) was hospitalized.

The age ranges of the newest COVID-19 positive cases were from a 3 year old infant to an 85 year old person; 16 of the new positive cases were from the the age of 21 years old to 60 years old, only 5 cases were those the age of 20 and under.

As of Monday evening, October 11, the total amounts of Covid-19 cases for the pandemic in Lawrence County was: Confirmed Positive: 2,499, Active: 62, Recovered: 2,398, Deaths: 39. The 62 active coronavirus cases comprise all the new last 7 day cases.

That is totally down over 46% from the totals of Monday evening,October 4, the total amounts of Covid-19 cases for the pandemic in Lawrence County was: Confirmed Positive: 2,437, Active: 110, Recovered: 2,289, Deaths: 38.

The current confirmed total COVID-19 cases (2,499), means that just under 16.05% of the residents of Lawrence have been known to test positive, which likely means that at somewhere around either side of half of the citizens in Lawrence County  unofficially came down with the virus and its numerous range of symptoms.

Everyone in the Lawrence County & local regions and across the state are cautiously hoping that these lowering of all the COVID-19 cases numbers in the past couple of weeks continues, and that there will not be the repeat of what happened at the end of the fall season 2020 in all the way through the winter into early spring 2021, with the massive second wave (and some states a third wave) of the various coronavirus variants that led to the major spike in deaths and hospitalizations across the United

States.

Fingers crossed folks; Fingers-Crossed ++.
