“Well its officially time. Time to announce I will be throwing my hat in the ring for Lawrence County Judge Executive. I want to work full time on making Lawrence County the best we can be. I know what I can do and together we can make a difference.  Thank you all for being so supportive.”I will be announcing my five point plan very soon. A plan that will put priority over politics,  a plan that will aim for our children’s future and our time right now. A plan that everyone can get behind and support.

D. Heath Preston’s resume

Lawrence County School board for the last 9 years

Chairman for the last 7 years

Louisa Utility Board for 5 years

Lawrence County Youth League President 7 years

Louisa Little League board

Preston also worked for Congressman Hal Rogers for over 5 years and was his Field Representative for 18 counties including Lawrence. He worked with the Congressman in Washington and Frankfort and still has many connections there.

He also has been businessman for all of his adult life creating new business and in the construction industry.

Preston just helped announce a $9.28 million grant from the state to build a state of the art vocational wing and more at Lawrence County High School.

He has been an advocate for Lawrence County for many years and and wants to put all his time into making Lawrence County the best we can be.”

*****

Preston, a Republican, would challenge current Republican Judge/Executive Phillip Carter in the May 2022 Primary if Carter seeks another term. The books are open for candidates to sign up for positions that will be up for grabs in 2022 including all city and county elected officials.

Have you ever went bankrupt running a business? I’ll answer for Lawrence County. Yes you have.

    • Brandy says:

Actually John, yes I have. I’m his wife. We worked our young married lives to accumulate personally and invested in small business. Then the recession came. I would never choose to do the same again. It was one of the worst and hardest times our our lives. But we lived, and learned. I hope you never experience the same.. While I appreciate your apparent concern for the fiscal wellbeing of LC, I will choose to address your remarks with full transparency rather than hide from what actually happened. Feel free to address either of us directly to allay you future concerns. I will do the same.

The recession was years over when you filed. If you want to challenge me on here, have at it.

        • John says:

          You squandered your dads money.

    • KAG says:

What’s Bankruptcy have anything to do with it you voted twice for a guy who filed Bankruptcy 5 times.
But he has raised the school tax just about every year since being on the school board that’s my beef with him. And that’s why I like Carter he is against raising taxes

  2. KAG says:

Just read this he has raised the school tax every year the last 9 years

    • Charles says:

One thing for sure KAG, any school tax spent on you was a waste!

  3. Percilla says:

What B.S… He cant do anything more than anyone else thats been in there. Thinking youre the crap wont do anything for Lawrence county. Find another hobby.

  4. John says:

He also didn’t like to pay his taxes a few times.

  5. Sonic says:

  6. Charles says:

I’m curious who is going to run for Sheriff?

  7. Louise says:

Carter has had his run in the judge’s chair and nothing has changed. Just keep that in mind before you dismiss any of the candidates.

    • Charles says:

Louise, in Eastern Kentucky that doesn’t always mean much. I’ve seen some of the most worthless people get elected and die in their respective office(s). I never could understand it, but watched it happen for years? I once saw a county magistrate get re-elected while in jail without bond for miss use and theft of county money (Floyd County). He was convicted, served his sentence and continued to serve, he was finally removed by the Governor (I think), may have been KSC? They appointed his wife, and she was elected 6 more terms. Nothing astonishes me with KY politics. But it is way past time to quit letting them inherit these offices.

    • KAG says:

The only way it’s going to change raise taxes who in their right mind wants that I know I don’t paying county taxes and don’t get nothing in return it’s not just me it’s all of the city residents who pay county taxes and get nothing in return. I hope you hear that Mr. Blackburn for a county that’s 90% republican they sure like spreading the wealth only when it benefits them.

      • Charles says:

KAG, his name is Preston and he is a Republican too. Good God?

  8. dave says:

    Go back to Johnson County

    • Charles says:

Who are you talking to Dave?

      • John says:

        Yes please

  9. Keeping it real says:

Im confused. Its the Dems who take from those who work and gives to those who dont and never intend to.

    • KAG says:

You need to look around you this is Republican Country half the people are collecting some kind of government check Eastern KY, Southern WV, and Southern Ohio you would have to go to the deep south to find this many people collecting a government check.

      • Charles says:

So where do you work KAG?

    • Charles says:

Yes that’s a fact! Sharing the wealth only applies when they take from the working people and give it to the scum of the earth, also known as dims!

  10. KC says:

Ask Preston about who pays him the most money. Follow the money and it will surprise you where it leads. He will soon enough find out, his skeletons are not buried nearly deep enough.

    • John says:

      Exactly

  11. John says:

    Come on Todd, announce it.

  12. Elizabeth Ann Green says:

Mr. Preston is aiming at the biggest challenges and prioritizing the needs of Lawrence county. I think by what research I have done and word of mouth, that this guy is wanting to help the community and by helping the community he also helps families, and children and animals. The animal shelter is one of his main points. I think everyone in Lawrence county will see that one person that touches a town, a county, a community with a good ❤ heart strong will and understanding. That’s what it takes for a community to pull together and be strong. He seems to see potential in, on, and around the town, not only that but he sees the people. I know I’m going to give him a chance. I think Mr. Preston is what this town needs. What it’s been needing to grow and in the growth of our community we as people also grow. God bless you Mr. Preston.
