THE SHOW MUST GO ON…

Trent Tomblinson will headline this year’s annual Septemberfest in downtown Louisa

Despite the threatening cloud of Covid-19 and variants overlooking Louisa this weekend with 96 new cases in the past week, Louisa Mayor Harold Slone, president of the Septemberfest 2021 Committee, and the other members decided to let Septemberfest go on this year.

In neighboring Johnson County the popular Apple Festival was cancelled two weeks ago bringing speculation that this year’s Septemberfest activities might also be called off but as no word came it became obvious in the past few days that Slone and the committee intended to have what Slone called “the biggest, best Septemberfest ever because we had to cancel last year”.

A gospel sing will be featured this year at 4:00 pm Saturday which will mark the first time in recent memory for bluegrass gospel has been featured.

And the Septemberfest Bowl is back with the Dawgs hosting the Russell Red Devils tonight at Luke Varney Stadium with the Youth Football League also sponsoring activities.

The two day show will begin at 11:00 AM Friday morning with the Opening Ceremonies with Slone in charge and the official opening of the event’s anticipated 45 booths selling everything from Bahama Mamas to ice cream in the city streets which serve as the midway.

Annual Lawrence County Septemberfest. Best Little Festival in Kentucky. Enjoy food, fun, friends & fellowship.

The pandemic must go on! Let the covid cases roll!! Very disappointed in the leadership of this town.

You are more likely more disappointed that you’re constipated! 🙂

  2. Charles says:

Glad to hear it, good for LC, I hope everyone (except KAG) has a good time. 🙂

  3. Truth💯 says:

Got to come up with the joke of a $50,000 salary for the mayor somewhere. Smfh

  4. Joe C says:

I thought Mayor Slone was smarter than this. Doesn’t he care at all about the people of this area? I guess it all comes down to one thing – profit.

    • Charles says:

Joe C you cry about everything don’t you? Are you and KAG married?

  5. Enthusiastic says:

If us young folks have any chance of receiving the social security we’re paying in, we’ve got to thin out the older folks somehow. I hope we have a large crowd.

    • Joe C says:

Thinning out the old folks…or the redneck hillbillies?

  6. patricia g canterbury says:

mOST of LC people doesn’t seem to concerned or CARE what is happening about the COVID . They are just like these wv people. UNTIL it effects them or someone they know, that’s when it will be taken seriously.

    • Charles says:

Hide in the basement and eat pudding with Uncle Joe, right Patricia? And always vote Demoncrap, right? Lets all be scared and cry and the Demoncraps will show us the way. Isn’t that what you are really trying to say? I’ve been vaccinated and will damn sure live my life.

  7. Dave says:

Get over it. Live in fear, hide yourself in your home for months or years if you want. People are tired of living in fear. Good for you Mayor!

  8. Vaccinated says:

    Stay home if you’re scared.

    • Joe C says:

Stay home if you’ve showered in the past 2 weeks.

      • Charles says:

Joe C you are so funny, you live in a little town that’s square in the middle of a land of hillbillies and somehow think you are better than the people outside of Louisa? You’re not smart, you re just smart …, You are scared too. Scared of anyone with education because you don’t. I doubt you bathe all that much yourself. I’m sick of you putting down good people, to make yourself look big! You are nothing Joe C, nothing at all.

        • Joe C says:

You’re right. I’m “not smart, I’m just smart”. LOL. The one thing that scares me…is your grammar!

          • Charles says:

I added smart….. I could have posted the rest but it wouldn’t be printed. An uneducated person would not understand …(It means more could be said). My grammar is perfect, your educational level is low, you just proved it. LOL.

          • Charles says:

You did fair with “you’re right” ( that is true), you did the quotations properly. LOL is not a real part of the English language, (we will ignore that). However ” Your Grammar” is incorrect! It’s (again) you’re not your? I suspect perhaps a 6th grade education, at best. Would that be in excess? How about it Joe C? I am also curious; do you wear women’s underwear? You stupid…. 🙂

    • Joe C says:

Not scared. Just smarter than you…

  9. Mullet Man says:

Where’s Street Cry man they’re way better than Hammertowne. Bring back Street Cry you all can start a tour off next year with Cross Fade and Hooba Stank.

  10. Joe C says:

To quote Chucky – “However ” Your Grammar” is incorrect! It’s (again) you’re not your”. “You’re” is a contraction of “you are”, so you think I should have said “The one thing that scares me …is you are grammar”? You are hilarious, the way you try to make everyone think you are so smart!

    • Charles says:

Well…I do have a masters degree, but you are correct I messed up didn’t I. Perhaps you’re not as uneducated as I implied. Nonetheless I can’t stand you, you’re a crybaby and I’ve never liked you. With that said, why do you constantly run down decent people as if it makes you look like a big shot, it doesn’t. You are a cowardly little man, with no respect for anyone. You are likely about 5′ 5″ and scared of your own shadow. Hitler comes to mind. You may do well to lay in a basement and let the world pass you by, because you are a baby Joe C. You likely don’t like having fun anyway, so you want everyone else to be as miserable as you are.
However I did notice you never said you didn’t wear ladies underwear? 🙂

      • Joe C says:

So, all these terrible things you said about me and I’m the “Hitler” who likes to run people down? You know absolutely nothing about me but you have “never liked me”.
“How can you love Jesus, whom you have not seen if you can’t love your neighbor whom you have seen?”

        • Charles says:

I do love Jesus after knowing his ways. I formed an opinion on you Joe C, based on the very same thing. I’ve never seen a inkling of good in you. That is the best way I can explain it.

          • Joe C says:

You know absolutely nothing about me, other than the fact that I disagree with yours and other views on here about some current events. That is what’s destroying this country right now. ” I don’t agree with your views so, obviously, I have to hate you.” I will never hate you because of your opinions posted on here. How can I? I don’t even know you.

        • Charles says:

That’s damn decent of you Joe C! I’ve never stated that I hate you either (I don’t think). Let’s just stop this now.

Sounds like a BLM party too me Chelsie…Where is that going on at?
