Kathleen Short, 85, of Louisa, KY went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 2, 2021.

Kathleen was born March 16,1936 in Fort Gay, WV to the late Pete and Edna (Hunt) Thompson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son Freddie Short; brothers Ray Thompson and Glen Thompson; and sisters Irene Pack, Jane Pack, and Dorothy Thompson.

Survivors include her children William B Short, Katherine (Joseph) Adkins, Patty (Larry) Henson, Linda Short, Janet Short, and Diane Short; grandchildren Priscilla Whitt, Karen Salmons, Nancy Adkins, Joseph “Bud” Adkins, Michelle Andrews and Jennifer Johnson; twelve great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; brothers Willie Thompson, Arbie Thompson, Roy Thompson, and Charlie Thompson; and sister Kizzie Marcum.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at 1:00 PM in the Young Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Thompson Cemetery at Vinson Branch.

Friends may visit the family on Monday, September 8, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM in the Young Funeral Home Chapel.

Young Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of Ms. Short and her family.
