Andrew “Andy” Joseph Katrinecz, Jr., died August 9, 2021, at his home in Shalimar, Florida.  He was 54.

Andy was an entrepreneur and inventor and holds several patents.

Andy was proud of his southern heritage and a fan of history, especially when it came to researching the many stories passed on to him from his grandparents, parents, and other relatives.  He was honored to learn of the ways his family influenced the growth of the United States during this country’s founding.  Andy considered his family’s efforts and sacrifices as he made decisions throughout his life.

Andy was preceded in death by his grandparents, Millard and Daphne Sammons, and his parents, Jim and Sue Young, all of Louisa, Kentucky; and his sister, Xanthe.

Survivors include his loving wife, Kathy Halliday-Fields, whom he adored, his “brother” Scott, and his cousin, Teresa Hillman (Don), whom he leaned on as his rock and friend, as well as many others.

A memorial gathering will be Saturday, August 21, 2021, at Emerald Coast Funeral Home from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Healing Paws for Wounded Warriors in Andy’s name.

Expressions of love and sympathy may be placed and viewed at www.emeraldcoastfuneralhome.com
