Since there wasn’t much time to get out notices to everyone here’s a brief summary of each agenda item…
Special Meeting
- A new lease was approved for Sullivan University’s use of Annex Building. Terms of the lease included Sullivan giving a 30 percent discount to all Lawrence County residents.
Sullivan will only be using the front section of the Annex building but will continue to pay all utilities for the entire building. A clause was applied to the lease which gives either party the option of voiding the lease with 60 days advance notice.
- The fiscal court approved health insurance for employees. There was a 3.5 percent increase in this year’s policy.
- Discussed old Methodist Church lease renewal. Fiscal court decided to table the decision until lease agreements could be made.
- Library Board members were appointed. New board members are Kim Burchett, Chris Martin and Susie Chambers.
