LAWRENCE COUNTY ARREST LIST – MAY 23-JUNE 6,2021

FROM 6:01 A.M. MAY 23, 2021 THRU TO 11:59 P.M. JUNE 6, 2021 (14 & 3/4  DAYS), AT LEAST 158 PEOPLE WERE ARRESTED FROM JOHNSON, LAWRENCE, MAGOFFIN, & MARTIN COUNTIES COMBINED, AND WERE BOOKED AT THE BIG SANDY REGIONAL DETENTION CENTER IN PAINTSVILLE.
OUT OF THOSE 158 ARRESTS, 35 ARRESTS WERE FROM LAWRENCE COUNTY.
 
SEPARATELY, 2 LAWRENCE COUNTY RESIDENTS WERE TAKEN INTO CUSTODY IN ANOTHER KENTUCKY COUNTY JURISDICTIONS (1 IN JOHNSON COUNTY, AND 1 IN MARTIN COUNTY).

PREVIOUSLY, FROM 6:01 P.M. MAY 2, 2021 THRU TO 6:01 A.M. MAY 23, 2021 (22 & 1/2  DAYS), AT LEAST 144 PEOPLE WERE ARRESTED FROM JOHNSON, LAWRENCE, MAGOFFIN, & MARTIN COUNTIES COMBINED, AND WERE BOOKED AT THE BIG SANDY REGIONAL DETENTION CENTER IN PAINTSVILLE. OUT OF THOSE 144 ARRESTS, 23 ARRESTS WERE FROM LAWRENCE COUNTY. SEPARATELY, 3 LAWRENCE COUNTY RESIDENTS WERE TAKEN INTO CUSTODY IN ANOTHER KENTUCKY COUNTY JURISDICTIONS (2 IN JOHNSON COUNTY, AND 1 IN CARTER COUNTY).

HERE ARE THE LATEST THIRTY-FIVE ARRESTS IN LAWRENCE COUNTY, ALONG WITH THE TWO ARRESTED IN NEIGHBORING KENTUCKY COUNTIES, ARE AS THE FOLLOWING:

Lonnie E. Click, 70, of Sandy Hook, Kentucky; was arrested on May 23, 2021, at 8:08 P.M., deputy Tyler Laney,of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, & was charged with: • SERVING BENCH WARRANT FOR COURT.
 
 
Charles E. Baldwin, 55, of Point Pleasant, West Virginia; was arrested on May 24, 2021, at 10:22 A.M., by chief deputy-sergeant Mason Keefer, of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, and was charged with: • POSSESSION OF A FIREARM BY A CONVICTED FELON, • WANTON ENDANGERMENT-1ST DEGREE-POLICE OFFICER.
 

Jeremy Ray Burris, 33, of Louisa, Kentucky; was arrested on May 24,2021, at 5:47 P.M., by detective Hunter James, of the Louisa Police Department, and was charged with: • THEFT OF IDENTITY OF ANOTHER WITHOUT/ORDER CONSENT, • ROBBERY, 1ST DEGREE, • TRAFFICKING IN CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, 1ST DEGREE, 1ST OFFENSE – (< 2 GRAMS METHAMPHETAMINE), • TRAFFICKING IN CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE 1ST OFFENSE (HEROIN), • POSSESSION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE 1ST DEGREE, 1ST OFFENSE (METHAMPHETAMINE), • PERSISTENT FELONY OFFENDER I (2 SEPARATE CHARGE COUNTS), • POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA, • DRUG PARAPHERNALIA – BUY/POSSESS.
 
Brandon Lilly,31,of Huntington,West Virginia; was arrested on May 24, 2021, at 8:25 P.M., by deputy Everett Chase Kirk, of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, and was charged with: • FAILURE TO APPEAR (2 SEPARATE CHARGE COUNTS).

William R. Blackburn, 32, of Paintsville, Kentucky; was arrested on May 25, 2021, at 4:30 P.M., by chief deputy-sergeant Mason Keefer, of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, and was charged with: • OPERATING MOTOR VEHICLE UNDER/INFLUENCE ALCOHOL/DRUGS/ETC. .08 – 1ST OFFENSE, • ENDANGERING THE WELFARE OF A MINOR, • RECKLESS DRIVING, • SERVING BENCH WARRANT FOR COURT, • SERVING BENCH WARRANT FOR COURT (JOHNSON COUNTY).

Melissa G. Evans, 33, of Fort Gay, West Virginia; was arrested on May 25, 2021, at 10:40 P.M., by an officer of the Louisa Police Department, and was charged with: • FAILURE TO APPEAR.

Joanie R. Adkins-Griffith, 30, of Louisa, Kentucky; was arrested on May 26, 2021, at 6:31 P.M., by an officer of the Louisa Police Department, and was charged with: • ASSAULT, 4TH DEGREE (DOMESTIC VIOLENCE) MINOR INJURY.
 
 
Christopher Griffith, 28, of Louisa, Kentucky; was arrested on May 26, 2021, at 6:32 P.M., by an officer of the Louisa Police Department, and was charged with: • ASSAULT, 4TH DEGREE (DOMESTIC VIOLENCE) NO VISIBLE INJURY.
 
Thomas C. Bowman, 42, of Louisa, Kentucky; was arrested on May 26, 2021, at 7:43 P.M., by deputy Everett Chase Kirk, of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, and was charged with: • FUGITIVE FROM ANOTHER STATE – WARRANT REQUIRED; for a warrant out of Lawrence County,Ohio; for Failure To Appear for Aggravated Possession of Dangerous Drugs.
 
 
Robert Gillespie, 49, of Blaine, Kentucky; was arrested on May 27, 2021, at 1:44 A.M.,by an officer of the Louisa Police Department,& was charged with: • NO TAIL LAMPS, • ONE HEADLIGHT, • NO OPERATORS-MOPED LICENSE, • OPERATING MOTOR VEHICLE UNDER/INFLUENCE CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (189A.010(1D) – 1ST OFFENSE, • POSSESSION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE 1ST DEGREE, 1ST OFFENSE (METHAMPHETAMINE), • DRUG PARAPHERNALIA – BUY/POSSESS.
 
 
Winfred S. Scott, 31, of Louisa, Kentucky; was arrested on May 27, 2021, at 4:44 A.M.,by an officer of the Louisa Police Department,& was charged with: • POSSESSION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE 1ST DEGREE, 1ST OFFENSE (METHAMPHETAMINE), • CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 3RD DEGREE.
 
 

Travis Vires, 29, of Hager Hill, Kentucky; was taken into custody on May 27, 2021, at 9:40 A.M., by the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, to serve a guilty plea jail sentence, “weekender”: • CONTEMPT OF COURT LIBEL/ SLANDER RESISTANCE TO ORDER.
 

Paul J. Jones, 42, of Louisa, Kentucky; was arrested on May 27, 2021, at 9:00 P.M., by deputy Everett Chase Kirk, of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department,& was charged with, via a grand jury indictment: • POSSESSION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE 1ST DEGREE, 1ST OFFENSE (METHAMPHETAMINE).
Gregory L. Scott, 35, of Louisa, Kentucky; was arrested on May 27, 2021, at 12:13 A.M., by deputy Everett Chase Kirk, of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, & was charged with, via grand jury indictment: • POSSESSION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE 1ST DEGREE, 1ST OFFENSE (METHAMPHETAMINE), • CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 3RD DEGREE.
 

Brandi L. Mills, 37,of Louisa,Kentucky;was arrested on May 28,2021,at 11:39 A.M., by Sheriff Chuck Jackson, of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, and was charged with: • POSSESSION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE 1ST DEGREE, 1ST OFFENSE (METHAMPHETAMINE), • DRUG PARAPHERNALIA – BUY/POSSESS.

Michael Layne Maynard, 40, of Louisa,Kentucky; was arrested on May 28, 2021, at 12:00 P.M., by deputy Joseph Osborne, deputy Daniel Castle, and Sheriff Chuck Jackson, of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, and was charged with: • RESISTING ARREST, • FLEEING OR EVADING POLICE, 2ND DEGREE (ON FOOT), • ANY MISDEMEANOR CHARGE NOT COVERED BY THESE CODES, • PROBATION VIOLATION (FOR FELONY OFFENSE).

 


Timothy S Harper, 20, of Louisa, Kentucky; was arrested on May 29, 2021, at 8:21 P.M., by deputy Everett Chase Kirk, of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, and was charged with: • MENACING, •DISORDERLY CONDUCT, 2ND DEGREE.
 

William Wilson Chafin,32,of Louisa,Kentucky; was arrested on May 29, 2021, at 9:43 P.M.,by an officer of the Louisa Police Department, and was charged with: • PUBLIC INTOXICATION-CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (EXCLUDES ALCOHOL).
 

David Eskra, 20, of Louisa, Kentucky; was arrested on May 30, 2021, at 4:34 P.M., by deputy Joseph Osborne,of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, and was charged with: • IMPROPER EQUIPMENT, • FAILURE TO OR IMPROPER SIGNAL, • RECKLESS DRIVING, • FLEEING OR EVADING POLICE, 1ST DEGREE (MOTOR VEHICLE), • OPERATING ON SUSPENDED OR REVOKED OPERATORS LICENSE, • DISREGARDING STOP SIGN, • FAILURE OF OWNER TO MAINTAIN REQUIRED INSURANCE/SECURITY, 1ST OFFENSE, • FAILURE TO REGISTER TRANSFER OF MOTOR VEHICLE,• SPEEDING, 15 MPH OVER LIMIT.
 

Hollie Lusk, 32, of Portsmouth, Ohio; was arrested on May 30, 2021, at 8:17 P.M., by trooper Forrest Newsome, of the Kentucky State Police, and was charged with: • THEFT BY UNLAWFUL TAKING OR DISPOSITION ALL OTHERS UNDER/$500, • CRIMINAL TRESPASSING-3RD DEGREE.
 
Kenneth L. Fitch, 47, of Louisa, Kentucky; was arrested on June 1, 2021, at 12:07 A.M., by deputy Everett Chase Kirk, of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, and was charged with: • INADEQUATE SILENCER (MUFFLER), • OPERATING ON SUSPENDED OR REVOKED OPERATORS LICENSE,• OPERATING MOTOR VEHICLE UNDER/INFLUENCE SUBSTANCE (189A.010(1C) – 3RD OFFENSE, • POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA.
 

Jakob Daniels,32, of Louisa, Kentucky; was arrested on June 1, 2021, at 2:51 A.M., by trooper Forrest Newsome, of the Kentucky State Police, and was charged with: • FAILURE TO WEAR SEAT BELTS, • SPEEDING 26 MPH OR > SPEED LIMIT, • WANTON ENDANGERMENT-2ND DEGREE, • RECKLESS DRIVING • FLEEING OR EVADING POLICE, 2ND DEGREE (MOTOR VEHICLE), • FAILURE TO PRODUCE INSURANCE CARD, • NO REGISTRATION RECEIPT.

Troy Eugene Tackett Jr., 25, of Louisa, Kentucky; was arrested on June 1, 2021, at 10:46 P.M., by deputy Everett Chase Kirk, of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department,& was charged with: •NO TAIL LAMPS, •NO MOTORCYCLE OPERATORS LICENSE, • NO REGISTRATION PLATES, • NO REGISTRATION RECEIPT, • FAILURE TO NOTIFY ADDRESS CHANGE TO DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION, • POSSESSION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, 3RD DEGREE – DRUG UNSPECIFIED, • POSSESSION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE 1ST DEGREE, 1ST OFFENSE (METHAMPHETAMINE).


Lawrence Tyler McCoy, 25,of Louisa,Kentucky; was arrested on June 1, 2021, at 10:46 P.M.,by deputy Tyler Laney & Sheriff Chuck Jaclson, of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department,& was charged with: • ALCOHOL INTOXICATION IN A PUBLIC PLACE (1ST & 2ND OFFENSE).
 

James M. West, 57, of Louisa, Kentucky; was arrested on June 2, 2021, at 11:23 P.M.,by an officer of the Louisa Police Department, and was charged with: • POSSESSION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE 1ST DEGREE, 1ST OFFENSE (METHAMPHETAMINE),•POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA,•DRUG PARAPHERNALIA – BUY/POSSESS • FAILURE TO SURRENDER REVOKED OPERATORS LICENSE.
 

Sonya Fitzgerald, 32, of Louisa, Kentucky; was arrested on June 3, 2021, at 1:35 A.M., by deputy Everett Chase Kirk, of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, & was charged with: • POSSESSION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE 1ST DEGREE, 1ST OFFENSE (METHAMPHETAMINE); and also was charged, via a grand jury indictment: • TRAFFICKING IN CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, 1ST DEGREE, 1ST OFFENSE – (< 2 GRAMS METHAMPHETAMINE),•TRAFFICKING IN CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE 1ST OFFENSE (HEROIN) • NO REGISTRATION PLATES.
 
James Arthur Mullett, 38, of Louisa, Kentucky; was arrested on June 3, 2021, at 1:18 P.M., by deputy Everett Chase Kirk, of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, and was charged with: • PROBATION VIOLATION (FOR FELONY OFFENSE).
 
 
James L. Dean Jr., 50, of Fort Gay, West Virginia; was arrested on June 3, 2021, at 12:26 P.M., by deputy Travis Music, of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, and was charged with, via a grand jury indictment: • ROBBERY, 1ST DEGREE, • UNLAWFUL IMPRESSIONIST – 1ST DEGREE.

Ferguson, 53, of Blaine, Kentucky; was arrested on June 3, 2021, at 7:14 P.M., by deputy Everett Chase Kirk, of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department,and was charged with: • POSSESSION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE 1ST DEGREE, 1ST OFFENSE (HEROIN), • TAMPERING WITH PHYSICAL EVIDENCE, • DRUG PARAPHERNALIA – BUY/POSSESS ; and also was charged, via a grand jury indictment: • TRAFFICKING IN CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, 1ST DEGREE, 1ST OFFENSE – (> OR = 2 GRAMS METHAMPHETAMINE), • PERSISTENT FELONY OFFENDER II, • RECEIVING STOLEN PROPERTY UNDER/$10,000.

Loudon, 39, of Blaine, Kentucky; was arrested on June 3, 2021, at 7:14 P.M., by deputy Joseph Osborne, of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, & was charged with,via a grand jury indictment: • POSSESSION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE 1ST DEGREE, 1ST OFFENSE (COCAINE), • DRUG PARAPHERNALIA – BUY/POSSESS.

Robert Harley, 31, of Prestonsburg, Kentucky; was arrested on June 4, 2021, at 12:18 A.M., by deputy Everett Chase Kirk, of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department,and was charged with: • FAILURE TO APPEAR; in connection to a bench court warrant out Pike County, Ky., for not appearing in court for an August 29, 2020 on a DUI charge.

    Meth, Meth, Meth. I tend to be negative toward these people, but I also feel sorry for them. When a loved one gets on it, it adds a different perspective. Its a real mess. Really sad. Unfortunately, children are the ones who are hurt the most from this pandemic.
