K-9 Kenya of the Louisa Police Department received his Narcan kit and K9 Trauma kit that was made possible by donations to ‘Protecting K9 Heroes’.
Kenya is an 8-year-old German Shepherd and is partnered with Sergeant Steven Wilburn.
Kenya’s kit is equipped with first aid and trauma supplies for both the handler and K-9.
I never had a K9, but I would have loved it, not for the sake of the job…I just love dogs! I’m glad they got this stuff, it will make the dog’s life safer as well as the officer, and the suspect who has OD’ ed, or is in the process! I don’t now, nor will I ever know why people take things that will kill them and often does? And that’s a real nice police vehicle! Looks like legal alcohol sales helped LPD step up a notch since the last time I was there.
