Hobert Casteel, 93,  of Louisa, KY went home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 5, 2021. He was born April 30, 1928 in Wayne County, West Virginia to Theodore and Naomi Vanhoose Casteel. He was a coal miner and retired custodian for Louisa Elementary School. He was preceded in death by his parents, 11 siblings, and a daughter Dori Elaine Paris of Akron, Ohio.

He is survived by his wife Janet York Casteel; son Darrell Casteel of Akron, Ohio’ step children Jonda Eidson of Cincinnati, Ohio, Fred (Sherry) Hogan of Chesapeake, Ohio, Michael (Joy) Hogan of Louisa, Kentucky, and Melanie Flaughes of Grayson, Kentucky; 13 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Hobert was of the Baptist faith. He loved to go to the flea market and trade guns, knives, and stories.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, March 8, 2021 at 1:00 PM at the Young Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Jason Cassell officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may visit the family on Monday, March 8, 2021 from 11:00 AM until time of service at the Young Funeral Home Chapel.

Young Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of Mr. Casteel and his family.
