CITY OF LOUISA – FLOOD UPDATE- March 4th, 2021 9am.

Yesterday, with the help of the LPD we were able to hand deliver the boil water advisories to all restaurants and grocery stores in the city. I’m proud of this accomplishment as I feel it was a great service to our citizens.

WATER – River levels have receded. All systems online and running smoother. Turbidity numbers improved overnight. However, the BOIL WATER ADVISORY must remain in effect until which time all systems are adequately flushed and turbidity levels can be guaranteed for a period of time. We understand the inconvienence of the boil water advisory but it is necessary. Please follow advisory until it is lifted by City. You will be notified. BOTTLED DRINKING WATER WILL BE AVAILABLE LATER TODAY- I WILL UPDATE ON DISTRIBUTION SITE ONCE IT ARRIVES.

WASTEWATER – River levels have now receded and we will be able to enter the buildings and some lift stations that were flooded to asses the damage. We are processing waste water at near normal conditions at this time.

FIRE DEPARTMENT – Our fire department has worked tirelessly throughout this event responding to water rescues and emergencies all over the county.

STAY SAFE – Boil Your water for cooking and drinking.

What about the river walk? Can you see that is a total waste of taxpayer money? Doesn’t matter where you get the money or what it is called , it’s still taxpayer money. If it was in place now who would clean it up? No matter who it would be with taxpayer money. Find something else to spend money on that will still benefit the citizens.
