(BREAKING | Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear says the National Guard is on standby with equipment to help with winter storm response. 

He says they have been ordered to stand up in the Ashland area to go door-to-door to check on people who are in more remote areas and have lost power. They will be helping take people to warming shelters if necessary. 
According to Kentucky Power, roughly 3,300 people are still in the dark in Boyd County from last week’s storm.
CLOSED OR CLOSING EARLY TODAY:
* TRMC Immediate Care-opening from 12-4:30
* Highlands ARH Physicians Offices – Opening at 1 PM
* BSCTC – CLOSED for Presidents Day
* OVP Health – Opening 2 Hours Late. Prestonsburg and Inez will be using Telehealth
* MEDIA NOTICE: POSTPONED AND RESCHEDULED MEETING
Due to power outages and anticipated hazardous weather this week, the February regular meeting of the Lawrence County Board of Education is postponed and rescheduled as a special meeting on Monday, February 22, 2021, pending safe circumstances. An updated agenda will be provided later this week.

*  Lawrence Co Circuit Clerk’s Office will not be opening at our regular time this morning.  Roads have been officially closed.  I will keep you posted if the weather will permit us opening later today.  

* Family Court that was scheduled for today is being reset for March 1st @ the same scheduled times.

* Mayor Joetta Hatfield of Fort Gay, WV, has canceled monthly city hall meeting as well as closing City Hall and the Fort Gay Water Department. Mayor Hatfield stated “ I definitely value my employees. I am grateful for all they do.” She said it wasn’t worth putting her workers at risk with it being so dangerous out.
