Ethel “Edie” Borders Young, 91, died peacefully on January 10, 2021 at Woodland Oaks in Ashland, KY.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and Mellie Borders of Chapman, KY, her beloved husband of 41 years, Arthur G (Art) Young, sisters, Imogene Borders Holloway and Geneva Borders Franklin, a brother, Bill Borders, and brothers-in-law, Bill Holloway and Herb Franklin.

Ethel is survived by her son Michael (Judy) Young, brother John (Johnnie Sue) Borders, sister-in-law Nan Borders Rice, and dear nieces and nephews.

Ethel was a member of 13th Street Baptist Church in Ashland, KY under the ministry of Art’s and her dear friend and pastor, Henry Mahan.  She demonstrated the fruits of the Holy Spirit – love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

Ethel – Mother – Edie had a delightful humor and very much enjoyed sharing time with her family and friends.  Ethel was a most loving wife and helpmate, mother, and mother-in-law.  She will be forever in our hearts and we hope to continue her legacy of love.

Miller Funeral Home is managing the arrangements, planned by family to be very private, due to Covid-19 care.  Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Louisa, KY.

Ethel’s – Mother’s – Edie’s family welcomes your comments.  Miller Funeral Home’s website has links for Tributes and for Facebook.

Should friends desire, the family has designated Cure Alzheimer’s Fund ( https://curealz.org/ ) for all remembrances.
