WERE OUT!! LAWRENCE COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT DIRECTOR DEBBIE MILLER SAYS THEY HAVE RUN OUT OF COVID-19 VACCINE, BUT THEY ARE GETTING FLOODED WITH SO MANY PHONE CALLS THAT IT IS DISRUPTING THEIR WORK EFFORTS
The Lawrence County Health Department is firmly asking local residents to stop calling their office, as the staff cannot keep up with the phone calls for the COVID-19 vaccines.
The health department is asking you to not call the health department for vaccine appointments. They need those phone lines to reach COVID positive people and to conduct normal business.
They are not taking appointments at this time and are not keeping a waitlist.
According to health department officials, they don’t have any vaccines to distribute.
The health department says they know it’s frustrating seeing other counties give vaccines to those who are 70 years of age and older, but they’re doing their best to find out when they may receive the coronavirus vaccine.
In a statement written late Monday morning by Lawrence County Health Department Director Debbie Miller, she wrote in a stern manner on social media:
“Lawrence County, I am begging you for your patience regarding COVID-19 vaccines. Staff cannot keep up with the phone calls we are getting and we need those phone lines to reach COVID positive people and to conduct our normal business. Please do not call the health department for vaccine appointments. We are not making appointments at this time and we are not keeping a waitlist. We do not have any vaccine to distribute. I know it is frustrating when you see other counties posting that they are giving vaccines to those 70 and older. We are very frustrated too. We are doing our very best to find out when we might receive a vaccine. I promise we will post that information as soon as it is available. Thank you for your understanding.”
In a second statement by director Miller Monday afternoon, she further stated that
“We are still unsure as to when we will receive more COVID-19 vaccine. There are facilities throughout the state that do have vaccine availability if you desire to travel for it. Their supply is very limited. Use the link below to check availability.”
“We anticipate vaccinating our K-12 school personnel in the next few weeks. We will then move to those age 70 and over as soon as we have any vaccines in our hands. I promise you we will get that vaccine in the arms of Lawrence Countians within 7 days of receipt!”

Meanwhile the number of new COVID-19 positive cases keep rising, but of more concern, is that the number or deaths from the coronavirus has officially more than doubled, going from five (5), to twelve (12) confirmed having passed away.
That is due to the Lawrence County Health Department announcing last Thursday evening reporting six (6) COVID-19 related deaths. Those deaths happened over the previous several weeks. The Lawrence County Health Department was informed by officials in Frankfort that they could proceed with reporting deaths rather than waiting on the state to report first as they are backlogged with deaths to confirm. Lawrence County’s COVID-19 related deaths occurred on 12/19/20, 12/20/20, 12/26/20, 01/02/21, 01/03/21, and 01/04/21.
The latest Lawrence County COVID-19 related death case was reported yesterday (Monday) January 11.
Meanwhile, for the six day period from January 6-11, there have been 50 new coronavirus positive cases confirmed. There were twelve (12) new COVID-19 positive cases in Lawrence County for Monday, January 11, 2021.

The number of total confirmed positive coronavirus cases in Lawrence County since the start of the pandemic in March is 935. Of those cases that are active are 128, the number of recovered is 795, and the number of deaths now stands at 12.
Of the 118 new confirmed cases in Lawrence County so far during the first 11 days of 2021, 5 of those individuals who tested positive have since been hospitalized.

Meanwhile as New York and some other poorly run cities are sitting on thousands of unused doses because they did not have proper planning to get the vaccinations rolling out to the people. Its also being reported that some of the doses will have to be disposed of because they will expire.
This is like a bad movie playing out with bad actors while the audience (we the people) look on.
