MAN HAS BEEN MISSING FOR 2 WEEKS, AFTER REPORTEDLY GOING DEER HUNTING; COMES AS CASE OF SECOND CLAY COUNTY MAN WHO WAS ALSO REPORTED MISSING AROUND SAME TIME ENDED WITH HIM BEING FOUND DEAD

DECEMBER 29, 2020 – written by WADE QUEEN

MISSING: ROBERT ESTEP, A 69 YEARS OLD CLAY COUNTY, KY. MAN WHO HAS BEEN MISSING SINCE DECEMBER 15. HIS FAMILY IS OFFERING A LARGE CASH REWARD FOR INFORMATION ON LOCATING HIS WHEREABOUTS.

The son of a missing man in Clay County is offering a $50,000 reward for information about his father’s whereabouts.

The family of Robert “Bob” Estep last saw him on Tuesday morning, December 15, after he told them he was going deer hunting.

Robert “Bob” Estep has been missing since December 15. He was last seen in the Hector area of KY. 149.

Robert Estep’s son told Lexington, Ky. television station WKYT that his father left to go hunting on a red ATV. Neither Estep nor the ATV have been seen since.

Robert Estep, 69, is described as being about 6′2″ tall and weighing about 195 pounds.

If anyone has any information about Robert Estep, they are urged to call the Clay County Sheriff Department office at (606) 598-3471.

The continuing search of Robert Estep comes on the heels of the case of a second Clay County man who was reported missing two days after Mr. Estep’s disappearance, but was last seen three days before Robert Estep went missing; But unfortunately, the second missing case had a sad ending.

Law enforcement officials in Clay County stated that Joey Mills, 58, was reported missing by his family on December 17, after he was last seen near his home at around 8:00 A.M., on Saturday, December 12, in the Curry Branch Community of Clay County.

JOEY MILLS, 58, OF CLAY COUNTY, KY., WAS FOUND DEAD NOT LONG AFTER BEING REPORTED MISSING BY HIS FAMILY, AT AROUND THE SAME TIME PERIOD THAT ROBERT ESTEP WAS ALSO REPORTED MISSING.

Joey Mills was found dead Friday morning after Clay County Sheriff Department deputies were dispatched after a body of a man was found in a wooded area near Sizemore Park Road; and shortly after arriving at the scene, a deputy coroner identified the deceased man as Joey Mills.

Law enforcement agencies in Clay County believe there is not a connection between the disappearance of Joey Mills and the still missing Robert Estep.
