Much has been made of President-elect Joe Biden’s narrow wins in battleground states, but in most places, the presidential race wasn’t competitive at all; most people live in “landslide counties,” where one of the candidates won by at least 20 percentage points. It reflects the rural-urban political divide.

“Nationally, 77% of all counties this year were won in a landslide. Four years ago, 79% of counties were won by 20 points or more,” Bill Bishop reports for The Daily Yonder. “Nearly eight in 10 rural voters (77.3%) live in a landslide county, about the same as four years ago.”
Though the 2020 race had a slightly lower percentage of landslide counties than in 2016, “The percentage of people living in a landslide county has been increasing since the mid-1970s,” Bishop reports. The phenomenon was a major basis for his book, The Big Sort: Why the Clustering of Like-Minded America is Tearing Us Apart.

In 2020, Texas boasted the most Republican urban and rural counties. In Armstrong County, an Amarillo suburb, 93.2% of voters went for Trump. “The most Republican rural county was Roberts County in the Texas Panhandle, where 96.9% of the vote went for President Trump,” Bishop reports. “Only 17 people there voted for the Democrat,.”
Biden’s top rural strongholds were Jefferson and Claiborne counties in the Delta region of Mississippi. Each gave 86.2% of votes to Biden, Bishop reports. On the map above, they’re the southernmost dark-blue Mississippi counties on the river, except the one in the state’s southwest corner; that’s Wilkinson County, which Biden won by more than 2 to 1.

Just goes to show that the poor and poorly educated are the easiest fooled by a lying con man. Every area where wages are higher and the populace is well educated weren’t stupid enough to be fooled.

So anyone with a different view point than yours who don’t live in a city/suburb are stupid, a fool, and uneducated. Your comment says more about you sir than those you are calling names.
I am a Proud rural American, part time farmer, conservative with a bachelor degree that voted Trump. I guess I am not educated enough to support killing babies, fluid genderism, bankrupting small business, no 2a so you don’t have 1a, and going against the constitution. I guess I am just not woke enough.

You should try to get a refund on that college degree
Going to the super market and getting vegetables and fruit doesn’t make you a farmer

          Kag,
I guess the acres of hay and corn i raise don’t count? The livestock i feed? Glad you know so much about what I do. Tell ya what your more than welcome to come out and help do hay this coming year. I will pay by how much you work and not what you think your worth.

Trump will remain in office !

Typical view from the Left. You didn’t vote the way I think you should have voted, so you’re stupid.

    • Homer says:

Jeremy, it sounds like you’re the biggest fool of all. All of rural America should quit farming and starve you big city fools to death. We know how to survive off our land, so we’ll be ok.

      • Jeremy says:

Homer I kinda agree sometimes. I mean they want to tax us for our livestock, complain because we kill a pig, cow, or deer but then want to run to a restaurant and down a steak. Raymonds comment was annoying because he believes intelligence is based on a pay check, geographic location, or your political view. Without Farmers and Truckers those cities/suburbs would wither and die.

Sorry Jeremy. I meant to address that to Raymond.

I would bet my education is greater than yours, and I was a Trump supporter. He did more for this thankless country than dims will or have ever done. Name just one factual thing the Democrat Party has ever done for the working people of this nation? I would love to hear it.

Mark, please refrain from calling me Charley, my name is Charles. With that said…you do have a point. Tell me some recent things, if you will?

OK, Charles. Thanks for your comment.

Charley I would like to hear some of your things you think the Dear Leader has done
Open your eyes this country is in the worst shape since the civil war

    What’s your point ?
We should start deciding elections by how many acres you win ?

  4. KAG says:

The Dear Leader was a democrat his whole life until he decided to run for president why did he switch parties ?
Because the democrats would not fall for the SCAM he has been a CON man his whole life and still is

  5. Just saying! says:

We already knew he won. Joe Biden is way too old to be the next president.

Out of the 50 states of the US, the electoral college map shows 26 went to Biden (15 of those states that went to Biden allow illegal immigrants to get driver’s licenses). States allow voters to register to vote using a driver’s license.
I wonder how many illegal immigrants voted in the 2020 election.
I wonder what tune people will sing if Biden follows his running mate’s comment “We’re going after bible-based discrimination.”
The word Bible is taken from Latin Biblia (book or books). Are Biden and gang going after the Catholic church, the Muslims, the Jew, the Hindus, or (you fill in the blank).
I am sure that the media is going to fawn over Biden. I doubt that the media will treat Biden as they treated President Trump.
Ah, well, as one pundit said, “The worst is yet to come.”

  7. Citizen says:

Those who cant look beyond this presidents personality and twitter feed are missing the point.
If you cant see the undeniable positives then you probably have a personal issue with him.
