;KENDRA DAVIS, 26; RYAN N. MARCUM, 34; DONALD J. WILEY, 35, AND SCOTTIE THOMPSON,33, ALL OF WHOM WERE ARRESTED IN THEIR CONNECTION TO A VIOLENT DOMESTIC ALTERCATION AT AN APARTMENT IN WARFIELD, ON DECEMBER 10.

What started out as yuletide season gifts brought to a young child by the child’s father, turns ugly instead, leading to four people being taken to jail after an argument turns into a violent smackdown in Martin County.

According to the arrest citation report by the Martin County Sheriff Department, on Thursday night, December 10, Martin County deputies were called to the Dempsey Housing Apartments in Warfield in regards to a domestic disturbance. Once deputies got to the scene, they found the group, some of them with minor injuries.

According to the citation, Donald J. Wiley, 35, of Inez, came to an apartment at the complex to drop off some Christmas presents for his daughter, but then allegedly tried to kidnap his daughter who was inside. Donald Wiley’s brother, Scottie R. Thompson, 33, of Warfield, told deputies his brother tried to stab him during the incident. The citation report states Scottie Thompson did have some cuts on his left arm.

Deputies said during all of the fight involving the two brothers, two women at the apartment, Kendra Davis, 26, of Warfield, who was the child’s mother and Ryan N. Marcum, 34, of Warfield, who was Donald Wiley’s girlfriend, started attacking each other. Ryan Marcum told deputies when Donald Wiley picked up his child, Kendra Davis attacked him.

The citation states once Donald Wiley gave Kendra Davis the little girl, she then turned on Ryan Marcum. Ryan Marcum told deputies she fought back, defending herself. Officers said in the citation Ryan Marcum had marks and bruises on her arms, neck and legs, allegedly caused by the fight with Kendra Davis.

Kendra Davis, on the other hand, told deputies Donald Wiley attacked her when she tried to stop him from taking the child. In the citation, Kendra Davis told deputies Donald Wiley bit her on the hand during the altercation.

The arrest report citation stated that Child Protective Services were called. There was no word in the citation on what happened to the young child, or if she was injured.

Donald Wiley, Scottie Thompson, Ryan Marcum, and Kendra Davis were all arrested by Martin County Sheriff Department deputy William Tyler Lafferty, with all four each being charged with

  • ASSAULT, 4TH DEGREE (DOMESTIC VIOLENCE) MINOR INJURY; which is a misdemeanor. All four individuals were taken to and lodged in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center in Paintsville.
