A 10-month investigation conducted by Deputy Bill Meade, Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, Operation UNITE, and DEA London resulted in the arrest of a Johnson County resident. Sean Tharp, 36, of Hager Hill, Kentucky who pled guilty in the U.S. Federal Court on Monday, November 30th for his role in conspiring to distribute methamphetamine.
The investigation revealed that Sean Tharp conspired with others to distribute 500g or more of methamphetamine into Johnson and surrounding counties. Tharp admitted to developing a relationship with a supplier outside of Kentucky. Tharp admitted to traveling to Georgia on multiple occasions to obtain pound quantities of methamphetamine. Tharp brought back the methamphetamine to the Johnson County area to sell. In Sean Tharp’s plea agreement, he admitted that his conspiracy involved 1.5 to 5 kg of methamphetamine.
The sentencing date for Sean Tharp is not yet been scheduled. Tharp faces a minimum sentence of 10 years in prison.
