Jerry Clay Hampton, 73, of Louisa, Kentucky, formerly of Lexington, Kentucky passed away October 20, 2020 at The Jordan Center Nursing Facility.

 

He was born in Louisa on April 6, 1947, the son of Carl Clay and Florene (Hager) Hampton.  He was preceded in death by his father.

 

Surviving are his mother Florene Hampton of Louisa, sister and brother-in-law Kathy and Gary Uhrig of Chillicothe, Ohio, brother John Hampton of Clearwater, Florida, nieces and nephews, Dr. Lisa Uhrig of Chillicothe, Ohio, Nathan Uhrig of Kissimmee, Florida, and Ashley and Jared Hampton of Clearwater, Florida.

 

Jerry was a graduate of Louisa High School Class of 1965. He attended the University of Kentucky and graduated from Morehead St. University in 1970.  He worked as a Certified Public Accountant and was a member of First Baptist Church of Louisa, Kentucky.  Jerry was an avid UK basketball fan and enjoyed watching horse racing.  He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

 

The family wishes to express their heartfelt appreciation to The Jordan Center Nursing Facility for their compassionate care.

 

Due to Covid-19, a memorial service will be announced at a later date.  Private burial services will be held on Saturday, October 24 at Pine Hill Cemetery with Rev. Chuck Price officiating.

 

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Jerry’s name to the Permanently Disabled Jockey’s Fund (PDJF.org) or a charity of your choice.
