Donald Garrison

Greenup, KY. (October 19, 2020) – On July 4, 2020, Donald Garrison contacted Kentucky State Police (Ashland) in regards to being a victim of excessive force being used on him during an arrest conducted by the Greenup County Sheriff’s Department.

Det. Kelley responded to KDMC to interview Mr. Garrison, who was then sent to U.K. hospital afterwards.

During the investigation from Det. Kelley and talking to multiple witnesses, it was determined that Mr. Garrison was involved in a physical altercation at a party that he had just left prior to being stopped and arrested. Mr. Garrison reported to KSP that the deputies caused the injuries when they arrested him, but video evidence and witnesses provides proof that his injuries occurred at a party and not by the deputies as he reported.

Due to the evidence obtained, Mr. Garrison has been arrested for falsely reporting an incident and lodged in the Greenup County Detention Center.
