I have a feeling there will be much less cleanup in LC with all these requirements. My garbage collector doesn’t give receipts and I don’t pay with a check. I pay through my bank account…maybe I could print something out.

With Mandates comes proof of compliance. Most bills are paid online now days which makes receipts harder. Crazy just to dump trash. DL showing residents in LC should be good enough.

The Mandatory Garbage Ordinance, is the biggest problem! Although I lived most of my life in KY, I now live in east TN (About 80 miles due south of Louisa, as the crow flies). Our county has what they call ‘Convenience Centers’, mine is about 3 miles away and they are dozens in the county. It costs nothing to take your garbage there, where they empty the dumpsters into trucks and take it to the land fill. I was amazed when I first got here, they are open about 4 days a week, and there are no piles of garbage dumped anywhere, and I actually pay less property tax than I did in KY. The roads streams and lakes are clean, and I can see my taxes in action. KY came up with the MANDATORY garbage laws in the late 70’s, and they have never worked. People by nature don’t liked to be forced to do anything! So in the end the taxpayer still foots the bill, even when they obey the law. There are better ways of doing things, but KY doesn’t always choose them. I love my home and it’s people (except KAG).
