COACH’S COMMENTS
“…A lot of these kids were freshman the last time we played Wayne and it was a tight game until the end, we had some guys go down and they pulled away. Those guys remember that game and they were ready to play tonight.”
“… They were real disappointed when we lost the first week and didn’t get to play Wayne, but things worked out and we got them back on the schedule. This game needs to be played, two county rivals and for the most part it’s a good game. We were fortunate tonight to play well come away with the victory.”
“… I thought our fans were great, not as many as usual when Wayne and Tolsia meet but they were loud. We spent a good chunk of money to clear the fence line so the ones that couldn’t come inside had a good view is the game.”
“… So proud of our kids they played so hard tonight on both sides of the ball. Great win for us as a whole and hopefully we can build on it going forward. Tough opponent next week if we get to play in East Carter. They whacked us pretty good last year here at home. Hopefully we can turn the tide next week.”
Tolsia Senior Gavin Meadows
PLAYER’S COMMENTS
“ ..Take care of business was our mindset coming into this week. We were focused all week and had a great week of practice. They hit us early with a couple passes and we knew they would run some play action and was just a busted coverage on our part.”
“… On the kickoff I just tried to hit up in there hard and my guys did a great job blocking and ran to daylight after that. I know a ton of those guys and we were ready to play from the jump tonight. I got the penalty on the touchdown but it wasn’t anything toward them I was just excited and got caught up in the moment.”
“… Neat week should be interesting, East Carter got us pretty good last year here at home and were are going over there looking for some payback. We will get back to work Monday and prepare the best we can.”
