Kentucky State Police Arrest Boyd County Man for Sexual Assault

ASHLAND, KY. (August 19, 2020) – On August 15, 2020 Kentucky State Police Post 14 Ashland received report of a juvenile had been the victim of sexual assault.

Through investigation, it was determined there was sufficient evidence to charge Larry R. Whitt, age 61, of Ashland, KY. Subsequently, an arrest warrant was obtained and served on Mr. Whitt.

Mr. Whitt is lodged in the Boyd County Detention Center on the following charges:

Sexual Abuse, 1st Degree, Victim U/12 Years of Age.

This case remains under investigation by Trooper Daniel Vossmer.

Kentucky State Police Investigate Body Found at Greenbo State Park

GREENUP, KY. (August 19, 2020) – On Wednesday, August 19, 2020 Kentucky State Police Post 14 Ashland was contacted by Greenbo State Park employees. The call was concerning the discovery of a deceased female.

Through investigation, Troopers identified the deceased as Dedera Michele Marcum, age 47, of Grayson, Kentucky. Marcum was discovered after she failed to checkout of her room at the allotted time and date. At this time no foul play is suspected and an autopsy has been scheduled.

This case remains under investigation by Trooper Shane Goodall
