SELF QUARANTINE ADVISED FOR KENTUCKIANS WHO HAVE BEEN TO MYRTLE BEACH IN PAST TWO WEEKS

Press release from the Kentucky Department for Public Health (DPH)

Self-quarantine and monitoring for Covid-19 symptoms are recommended for Kentuckians who have traveled to Myrtle Beach within the past two weeks.

The Kentucky Department of Health today issued an advisory for Kentucky residents who have traveled to Myrtle Beach over the past two weeks.  In Kentucky a group traveled to Myrtle Beach June 11, and returned June 14.  At least nine members of the group tested positive for Covid-19.

Another cluster might be linked to a trip the first week of June.

Recent travelers should watch for a fever of 100.4 or higher, respiratory symptoms, such as shortness of breath or breathing difficulty, or loss of smell or taste.

DPH stresses that exposure to Covid-19 isn’t just limited to Myrtle Beach, but multiple states have reported a rise in Covid-19 cases.

Kentuckians should continue to practice social distancing, hand washing, and wearing a cloth mask when in public or in groups.
