Improvements to the Lawrence Co. Wilderness Park include blacktop in needed spots. The park is scheduled to open on June 17.

The Lawrence County Wilderness Park should be open to the public June 17th. The park is undergoing road improvements for safety purposes which include new road design and paving.

The park management is making accommodations for those that already have cabin, RV, and camping sites rented by allowing them to enter.

We apologize for the delay in fully opening the park but these improvements are needed. We look forward for our citizens and visitors to be able to enjoy Lawrence County Wilderness Park.

I’d like to know where the paving went for Little Cat Fork Road that received FEMA funding and approval for late last Fall? Where’s the pavement or where’s the money?
Probably a good story here on this and some other roads that received FEMA funding at the same time and never happened!!!
