Press Release from Lawrence County Septemberfest Board

Louisa, KY – It is with a heavy heart that The Lawrence County Septemberfest board announces cancellation of the 2020 Lawrence County Septemberfest.

The Board met Monday night via Zoom meeting to discuss this year’s festivities. Due to the current situation and continued concerns from the COVID-19 pandemic, board members present unanimously voted to cancel the 2020 festival joining most other area festivals which have cancelled well into September.

This decision was not made lightly, the board takes pride in providing the annual family friendly festival, but due to the expected long term health concerns and the large crowds attracted to the festival, many from out of state, it was determined that cancellation of the festival was in best interest of the Safety and Health of the citizens of Lawrence County and festival patrons.

“ I am deeply saddened by this turn of events, but the board just saw no path forward this late in the game given the current environment .Normally most planning and commitments for the festival has already taken place by this time of year.  The festival is like a homecoming for all of us. I have spoken with some of the major sponsors and we plan on 2021 being the biggest and the best festival ever. Living up to its name The Best Little Festival in Kentucky”, said board chairman Harold Slone.

We look forward to seeing everyone at the 2021 Septemberfest and our continued tradition of pride in our community and family friendly festivities.

It’s a good thing they give everyone plenty of notice so they can re-arrange their drug deals now instead of them being at Sep Fes. Most start on making sure their wife beater is plenty stained way ahead of time and their mullets have grown out to a respectable length. Have to do something different now!!
