Sheriff Rick Thompson stated that two theft suspects were arrested this evening in the Prichard area.

Sheriff Thompson stated that Deputies responded to a call of someone stealing a boat that was on the side of US RT 52. The victim was in the process of getting a tire to replace the busted tire when the incident occurred.

Jared Webb and Bobbie Sue Clay

Deputies located the boat and suspects on Little Hurricane Creek Road and placed them both under arrest. The boat was valued at $2,000.00. The Wayne County Sheriff Drug Enforcement Unit and Fort Gay Police Dept assisted.

Jared Webb, of Fort Gay, is charged with Grand Larceny and Conspiracy. Bobbie Sue Clay, of Louisa, is charged with Grand Larceny and Conspiracy.

In addition to the charges Bobbie Sue Clay was wanted on five felony drug charges from an investigation by the Wayne County Sheriff Drug Enforcement Unit. In that investigation Bobbie Sue Clay is charged with (2) Counts of Delivery of a Controlled Substance (Crystal Methamphetamine), (1) Count of Conspiracy, and (2) Counts of Pseudoephedrine in an Altered State.

Just wondering how come there are stories from a neighboring state and counties South of Lawrence listed in Regional & State News but when one the biggest heroin bust ever in the area happens in Boyd there is no mention. Just curious considering that big bust probably stopped a lot of Heroin from coming to Lawrence County. Details at Boyd Co Sheriff Dept Facebook in case it was missed.

Did not hear about it. When did it happen? KSP usually sends a report.

It was the Daily Independent online on Monday and probably in paper Tuesday. Then was also on The Boyd County Sheriff Dept Facebook page on Tuesday. Way it reads does appear KSP was involved so that’s probably why they didn’t send a report. From the reports the bust happened Monday.
