On Friday March 27, 2020, I spoke with Senior Citizens Director Sharon Boggs about the new meals for local Senior Citizens over 60.
Ms. Boggs stated that they had distributed 51 meals today and numbers are increasing on a daily basis.
“We’d like to thank Mayor Harold Slone, Judge Phillip Carter, Sheriff Chuck Jackson and everyone else for their involvement and pulling together to keep our community safe,” she said. “The Senior Citizens building may be closed, but our staff and volunteers are going to do everything they can to make sure all of our seniors are taken care of.”
