Aletha Nelson Osborne passed away peacefully into God’s loving arms on Tuesday, March 10, 2020 in Lexington, KY.

Aletha was born March 10, 1930 in Barboursville, WV. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a faithful child of God and member of Unity Baptist Church in Ashland, Kentucky. Her loving and caring nature led her to be an avid flower gardener, Hospice volunteer, P.E.O. member, and church volunteer. She was also a charter member of Kentucky Girls State, as she was a delegate of the first group to attend.

Aletha leaves behind her legacy in her children, son John Lee Osborne (Helen) and daughter Karen Osborne Taylor; grandchildren, Jessica Bell (Keith) and Dustin Dalton (Stacie); great grandchildren, Jackson and Quinn Bell, Easton and Sydnie Dalton, and Chase and Skylar Fleshman; sisters, Joyce Harrod and Janet Ratcliffe; and brother Richard Nelson.

She was preceded in death by her husband Elwood Osborne; parents Okey and Elsie Lewis Nelson; brothers Bernard and Leslie Nelson; and sister Donzella Nelson.

Services will be held 2:00pm, Sunday, March 15, 2020 at Unity Baptist Church in Ashland. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery in Louisa, Kentucky.

Visitation will be at the Steen Funeral Home Central Avenue Chapel, Ashland, Kentucky, on Saturday evening from 6-8 PM and from 1-2 Sunday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Community Hospice, 1480 Carter Avenue, Ashland, KY 41101, Unity Baptist Church, 2320 29th Street, Ashland, KY 41101 or a favorite charity.
