Frankfort, KY – As State Representative Richard White takes office this afternoon, the Republican Party of Kentucky issued the following statement:

“The Republican Party of Kentucky is proud to congratulate Representative White, and welcome him to our GOP supermajority in Frankfort,” Republican Party of Kentucky Chairman Mac Brown said. “Representative White taking office represents a historic shift in Kentucky politics. Longstanding Democrat strongholds across the state trend more Republican as voters look for leaders to work with President Trump and our GOP elected officials to keep fighting for Kentucky’s values and making our Commonwealth an even better place.”

According to the Legislative Research Commission, no Republican has represented Elliott County in the House since at least 1944, nor Rowan County since at least 1922.
