Bobby Joe Bowens, 45, of Fort Gay, WV went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 10, 2020 at home.

Bobby was born April 2, 1974 in Huntington, WV to Joe Bowens and Wanda Eslick. Bobby was a mechanic with River City Tire. He loved to fish and hunt. Bobby was saved as a young  man and attended Oak Grove Church.

Bobby was preceded in death by his grandparents Leonard and Verlie Stroud and Lola Bowens.

Bobby is survived by his parents Joe Bowens and Wanda (James) Eslick; longtime friend Billie Bowens; son Brayden Bowens; special child Peightyn Pennington whom he thought of as his own; brother Keith Bowens; In-laws Roger and Delores Pennington, whom he made his home with and best friend Tosh Napier.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, January 14, 2020 at 1:00 PM at Oak Grove Church with Brother Mack Ray Cyrus officiating. Burial will follow in the William Perry Cemetery on Perry Ridge.

Friends may visit the family Monday, January 13, 2020 after 3:00 PM at Oak Grove Church.

Young Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of Mr. Bowens and his family.
